If you have someone in your family or church for whom you would like to request special prayers, please email me, and the names you send will be added to the list. If you have a need that is deeply personal and would rather not go into any details, that's fine. We can just list it as a personal request.
4/22/10: UPDATE AND PRAISE: Mark and Parker's first child, Isabelle, lived for 1 1/2 years in the village of Ayorou. She was the first white baby/toddler that most of the villagers had ever seen, so she gets a lot of attention. When Janis and I visited the village in January of 2009 we witnessed this first-hand -- so much so that we called her "The Princess of Ayorou!
Mark and Parker came home on furlough in mid-January, and their second child, Luke, was born in Bowling Green, KY. They will be returning to Africa in August.

1/4/09: PRAISE!! After centuries of darkness, God is working in Ayorou, slowly opening the ancient gates of Songhai tradition and religion! A church is now meeting weekly, and continues to grow. It was a special joy for Mark to see a Songhai man baptize another Songhai man! As we celebrate God's work there, please also continue to pray:
* That many others in the village will respond to the gospel.
* That God will protect and bless the new believers in Ayorou, who are the first Christians in the history of Ayorou! Many of them are living as "outcasts" from their family and friend.
* For protection and health for Mark, Parker, Isabelle, and Luke.
