Prayer Requests

If you have someone in your family or church for whom you would like to request special prayers, please email me, and the names you send will be added to the list. If you have a need that is deeply personal and would rather not go into any details, that's fine. We can just list it as a personal request.

  • 5/20/08: PRAISE!! Mark and Parker's baby, Isabelle, was born on May 15th, weighing 7 lbs., 14 oz. She is doing great, and already has her daddy wrapped around her little finger! Please continue to pray for the health of Isabelle and Mark and Parker, especially when they go back to the village in mid-June.

  • 5/6/08: PRAISE!! After centuries of blinding following the Muslim religion, God is working!! Mark baptized two new believers in Ayorou last week (April 14th. The first was a young boy whose grandmother not only gave permission for him to be baptized, but also attended the baptismal service. The second was HUGE! A 32-year old man named Isa accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized. This is the first adult male to break away from the very strong traditions of this ancient Songhai village. Isa is a native of the village with strong Songhai roots and is respected and influential in the village. While Jonathan was visiting Mark recently, he had the incredible experiencing of baptizing Yacouba, the first new believer in Ayorou who made a profession of faith last year, but his parents had not given permission for him to be baptized. Please also continue to pray:

    * That many others in the village will respond to the gospel.
    * For the five new believers in Ayorou, who are the first Christians in the history of Ayorou!

  • 5/20/08: PRAISE!! SHOULDER SURGERY UPDATE - My appointment with the orthopedic doctor yesterday went great. He was all smiles, and officially "dismissed" me and said that I was through with therapy! Initially he had said that recovery would take four or five months. I still have a few restrictions and have to work on strengthening all the muscles in that arm, but it is great to be at this point! Thanks to all who prayed for me! Between the prayer of my friends and the mega-doses of several supplements that I took, healing has come quickly. The Great Physician has done it again!
